Melissa Bosserman, ND MS CCC-SLP
Born and raised in Oregon, Dr. Melissa has a love of nature, the forests, and being outdoors. She enjoys camping, hiking, cycling, running, and race walking. She is a competitive USATF Race Walker and USATF Master’s National Champion in the 5k Race Walk in 2016. In January of 2020, Dr. Melissa competed in the National 50 km Race Walk Championships / Olympic Trials and finished in 7th place. When not outside, Dr. Melissa enjoys expressing her creative brain through art and music. She enjoys photography, painting with acrylics, playing the piano, and singing. Recently, she started singing on her church’s worship team as a Soprano. However, she has not had as much time to enjoy those pastimes lately, since her latest life adventure was becoming “mom” to a beautiful baby girl in 2023.
Her career in medicine started in 2007 as a Speech-Language Pathologist working in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and long-term care homes. In 2013, she took the initial steps to make a lifelong dream of becoming a doctor come true and started taking prerequisite classes to prepare herself for medical school while working as an SLP. In 2014, she enrolled at the National University of Natural Medicine to study Naturopathic Medicine. As an individual with her own unique health challenges, she learned the value of natural medicine and came to the decision to pursue Naturopathy instead of conventional medicine. In 2018, she graduated from NUNM with her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. Over that summer while embarking on a 5-day 115 mile run to promote Naturopathic Medicine and traveling to 6 national parks on a road trip, she studied to take her licensing board exams that August. After learning that she had passed her exams, The Boss Clinic LLC was born out of a desire to build a practice where she could be healthy with work-life balance and share her skills with her clients.
